I’ll start off by saying that this post is way overdue. I actually redesigned my website in January 2018 and I’m just now getting around to posting about it (7.5 months later)… You can see the old website attached below for example. While there wasn’t anything really wrong with the website itself, I just wasn’t content with it. I didn’t feel that it really represented who I am. So instead, I sought out to create something a bit simpler, more modern, and straight to the point.

It was hard deciding whether to go with a light or a dark layout, but ultimately ended up with a dark layout. You can see below with the two pictures (light and dark), what I was deciding between and that the current website actually differs slightly. Initially the hover color for everything was a bright pink color, but after bouncing ideas off of some redditors I ended up deciding to spice it up by defining a random color array and on each page load selecting which color to use for hover elements based off of the Javascript result. Aside from that, I’ve also made some changes to better suit the changes associated with the new Gutenberg editor that WordPress recently released.
